Now You've Got Me Worried

Hello! I'll probably do another post later today when I'm on a computer, because I'm on my IPad right  now and typing is terrible. So, onwards about my "wonderful" scoliosis. Yesterday (I was busy and couldn't/ didn't post) I had my first chiropractic adjustment. It felt better than I thought it would, but that's not what has me worried. The worry here is that my upper curve is 42 degrees, usually, 45-50 is surgery. The chiropractor didn't measure my bottom curve, as it isn't the current cause of concern (the organs it will affect are more flexible than the organs my other curve will affect). This is hurting my fingers and it's going really slow because I'm typing on an IPad, so I'll post later.

Diagnosed

Hello! I don't wish to reveal my real name, so I'm going by Autty02 or just Autty. Anyways, welcome! I'm sure everybody who is looking at this is curious about some scoliosis thing or another, but for now, I just have my diagnoses. Two days ago, on a Friday, (the day after school had let out) I went to the chiropractor, because my mom had noticed my back was crooked on a vacation a couple weeks before. Now, before my appointment, I was REALLY worried! I couldn't find any information on the interned about chiropractors and scoliosis. The appointment turned out to be super easy though. It started with some paperwork, which was nerve-racking because I just had to sit there and wait. Next we had to watch a video about chiropractic adjustments while they reviewed our paperwork. It was boring because that's not what I was there for. When the chiropractor finally came in, she explained how the appointment would go, and once she finished we got started. First was a postural exam. Don't worry, I was able to wear all of my clothes during this. She (the chiropractor) looked at my shoulders, head, hips, and shoulder blades for uneven-ness. She then felt my spine when I was standing and then had me bend over so she could observe my rib hump and my spine some more. She determined that I had structural scoliosis and we went to take X-Rays. For this you DO have to take off some clothes. I had to take of my pants and bra (I was wearing a sports bra so I didn't have to but if you were you had to), then put on this gown. Then the chiropractor had me breathe differently and took some X-Rays. Then I put my pants back on and took of the gown and met my mom back in the room. From there we saw my X-Rays, but my curves weren't measured yet. Finally, we set up my next two appointments and left. My next appointment is tomorrow so I will blog about that too! Comment with questions and I'll try to answer!
